Dr. Ryan's best friend Dr. Michael is being accused of malpractice by Ryans' father-in-law after Michael failed to save his loving son Calvin's life, but Ryan blames himself for Calvin's death. What everyone doesn't know is that Calvin had a dangerous side to him that he kept hidden. Michael gets help with his case from a high-powered attorney Jayson. After being married to Calvin, Ryan isn't interested in a relationship unless it's physical, but Jayson wants more.

It felt like the main purpose of the story was to convince its readers that abuse is bad, and survivors are strong, that's it. It just had a lot of lecturing, and it took me out of the story.
