Butter My Biscuit by Lyra Parish

5.0

These books are not supposed to make me cry! Best friends to lovers in a small town is supposed to make me laugh, maybe until I cry, but not because I feel every single emotion that the characters feel. Sigh... Harrison and Gracie have been friends forever. Their mothers are friends so they inevitably became friends. They have both hid their true feelings for one another for different reasons, but most of all because no one wants to potentially ruin a great friendship if a romantic relationship doesn't work out. Grace carries around a lot of relationship baggage that stems back to her parents' divorce. So it's difficult for her to fathom what good relationships look like. Through thick and thin, Harrison has been her constant and vice versa. They crossed lines and tried to get back to some semblance of normal friendship, but that's a bust.

So yes, I cried. I cried for what should have been easy for Harri and Gracie. I cried for the potential mistake Harrison almost made. I cried for all the chances Gracie had but didn't take because of fear. And yes, I cried when Harrison and Grace FINALLY discovered what everyone else has known about these two since ever since... that they deserve every bit of the HEA together. All the freakin' feels.

I received an advance copy of this book at my request and voluntarily left this review.
