This was pretty meh compared to the last book.

Somehow so many things are happening and yet nothing is happening all at once?
I felt like the author forgot their own story halfway through and decided to veer back into the plot thus making it extremely messy to read.
There were bouts of dryness during the travelling scenes also which made a quarter of the book extremely slow and boring. The characters seem very muted compared to the last book, which I can forgive in certain scenes but it felt like the whole "conflict" between them was getting in the way of actual storytelling. The plot didn't seem to be moving for a long while. It can be extremely frustrating to read.

I can't say I didn't enjoy some parts but they were few and far between. Overall, just meh.
I am disappointed. This book just wasn't for me. It's a shame because I genuinely wanted to see how this story ended but this might be the last book I read from this world.
