Wild at Heart by K.A. Tucker

emotional funny lighthearted

5.0

I did not think that I would love the second book more than I already loved The Simple Wild, but I did.
I'm usually not so much a romance reader but this series just makes me happy. The characters are all so relatable and lovable. The setting in a small town in Alaska is perfect. Wild at Heart made me feel all warm inside while reading.
This book is beautifully written and the description of nature and the animals roaming around Calla's and Jonah's property was absolutely breathtaking!
Calla's and Jonah's relationship feels very real, adult and respectful. Things I often miss in romance novels. They are both trying to get accustomed to their new life together. Both are putting their own needs behind sometimes in order to make their partner happy, but in a healthy way. Making life work is hard sometimes, especially if you're living in a small Alaskan town.
I enjoyed all the new side characters. Some of them are not easy to get around with sometimes but they all have their heart at the right place. Whenever Calla or Jonah needed a helping hand they were there. Roy was definitely my highlight of the book.
