People We Meet on Vacation by Emily Henry

2.5

⭐️⭐️✨

I think it’s possible I would have rated this higher if there wasn’t so much hype, but I expected a lot more from this so I found the actual book quite disappointing. It wasn’t bad, and I enjoyed the banter between Poppy and Alex, I just found the book overall to be a little boring. Like yes it was fairly entertaining but I got bored of the whole flipping back and forth between different vacations, and I got really annoyed at the mystery behind what happened in Croatia. Like I don’t think that it needed to be some big secret from the reader - I get Henry was trying to make you wonder what happened but I just found it annoying. I found Poppy and Alex to be both just ok, and the same goes for the rest of the cast - I just didn’t care enough about what was going on to truly invest in the story. That being said, it definitely wasn’t bad for a romcom and I’m always a sucker for friends to lovers (which might be why I’m so dissatisfied that I didn’t enjoy this) but I don’t see myself continuing with any of Henry’s other books.
