I adore this series.
I liked that this one is branching out from the others in the series; a bit more gritty characters (although plenty of angst for previous ones too) and seeing a new scene was really nice. But also I love all the other characters and getting bits and pieces from them throughout the book made me so happy.
Beau was as amazing as I’d hoped he be, although I wish Bailey was a little more assertive. I know she’s meant to be more inexperienced bc she’s younger n w low self esteem due to her upbringing, but she had hints about being confident and in charge of her life and I wish we got a bit more of that. Sometimes her character didn’t feel totally cohesive to me. I also wish we got more of her back story.
I do kinda wish there was more of the rest of the characters if this is the final book in the series though. It didn’t feel as well-rounded as I had hoped to wrap up the series.
But those complaints are minor; I really appreciated how they showed up for each other throughout this story. Wish I had more time w them to fully go over their backstories. Probably shouldn’t have read it in one day bc now I have to wait even longer for Elsie Silver’s next book.
