Long Way Down by Krista Ritchie, Becca Ritchie
5.0
5 ⭐️ (the easiest 5 star read ever)
“Wherever you go, I’ll go.” As long as I’m alive, this will never fucking change.”
Where do I even begin with this one? You know a book is amazing when you finish a 600+ book in under 24 hours. I was just completely mesmerized by Daisy and Ryke’s continuing story and adventures and I couldn’t possibly put it down. Now this book is definitely way more emotional than their first book because it handles some sensitive and emotional aspects and topics such as death, infertility and trauma, so I would recommend to check TWs before reading it.
I have always had a special place in my heart for Daisy Calloway and Ryke Meadows and that love inside my heart just grew even stronger whilst and after reading Long Way Down. There’s no words that’s good enough to describe how much this book touched me to my very core in one of the deepest ways possible. This book had my heart, tore it apart and then put it back together multiple times. I get why people say that this book is one of their favorites because I wholeheartedly agree now after finishing it. There’s just something very different about the way LWD carries itself and its story (in the best way possible).
“He never gives up on me, even when I disappear at night. Even when I wane like the setting sun. His love is unyielding and exists to cloak me through heartache, through misery, through laughter and pain. I love him in every moment. In every smile. In every frown. And I will love him after every long way down.”
Daisy and Ryke are two of the strongest people I know and I’m over the moon about them getting their happy ever after. Daisy is just such a sunshine and one of the bravest and courageous women ever and Ryke is so headstrong, loving and unbelievably powerful. They are definitely meant to be together in every lifetime and I’m so happy I finally got to read more of their incredible love story. I can’t wait for SKOP, especially after that epilogue in LWD, even though I know it’s gonna be one heck of an emotional rollercoaster.
