The Phantom of the Opera by Gaston Leroux
3.5
This book was a bit of a disapointment for me. It wasn't as engaging as I wanted or needed it to be. If I didn't do an immersion read with the audiobook, I might have DNFd it.
CAWPILE(A):
Chracters: 3.5/5 - Some characters were great, some felt too similar to each other.
Atmosphere/Setting: 4/5 - The atmosphere and setting were great, for the most part. There was a time or two when I didn't realize we switched settings - but that might be a me thing.
Writing Style: 4/5 - The writing was solid. Pacing was good. It just couldn't keep me engaged.
Plot: 4/5 - The plot was effective and easy to follow.
Intrigue: 3/5 - When I was interested, I was very interested. It was just hard to capture that.
Logic: 4/5 - It all made logical sense, for the most part.
Enjoyment: 3/5
Audiobook: 4/5 - The narrator - Gordon Griffin - was great. Maybe saved this book from being a DNF for me.
Total: 29.5/8 - 3.6
