AH, that cliffhanger! This series is addicting, Victor Bayne is addicting: will I ever tire of self-deprecating, unhealthy, sarcastic, little grumps that should definitely be in therapy? I think not.
This fourth book finally gives us a bit more insight into Victor's past and his Camp Hell experience is talked about a bit more and I feel like we're finally heading in the right direction: that is, even more answers about his traumatic past and his maybe-more-powerful-than-expected medium abilities. We also get to see a bit more of Jacob and his shadier and darker personality traits: I mean, he's been around plenty, but mainly as Victor's too-perfect-to-be-true love interest. I feel like this book was kind of game changer in a way: Victor is finally becoming more aware of Jacob's glaring faults, and his more manipulative side, and I AM LIVING FOR IT. Ironically, I feel like I can finally start trusting him more, now that his personality is a bit more fleshed out.
I loved having Lisa back and her friendship with Victor was maybe my favourite thing in this book: both of them are completely bonkers, in their own special way, and I'm really hoping to see her again soon. Crash was, as usual, a riot, even though I don't trust Victor with him one bit: I hate triangles something fierce and I'm not overly keen on sharing or anything like that (sorry not sorry, it's just personal preference), so I'm hoping this whole "I'm attracted to him" situation going on resolves itself sooner rather than later. I know Crash has his own book and since I really love him I'm looking forward to reading a bit more about him.
That ending though? I screamed. I can't wait to jump into the next book
