I wanted to like this so much more than I actually did. I just felt that the characterisation was flat, which made it difficult to connect with the characters and their relationship. The plot needed more space to breathe (perhaps would have been better if the story had been expanded - to give plot, characters, and relationship more time to develop?). The spice was spicing and was the highlight of the book for mine, but even this was overshadowed by some iffy depictions of BDSM throughout. Some pretty poor mental health rep also made this difficult to enjoy.
