A little slow at first, but when it picked up it was just as fast paced as the first book. I was kind of shocked that the love interest changed from the first book, so then I thought it was headed in the love triangle direction. Thankfully it didn't and I ended up loving Caden. Some directions the story line went felt kind of silly to only end up back in the same place, only with the characters having changed from this quick situation. I guessed the plot twist of who the traitor was, but I was more disappointed with the reason for the betrayal. It really wrapped up this series, which also surprised me since I thought it was going to be at least a trilogy, but things felt resolved and really no need for another book. I would like some more insight though it the testing and science of HTS.
Teacher Notes: Could easily be related to real historical events and/or used in a dystopian unit study.
