yes i think this is better than the original, what abt it!! i enjoyed reading this way more than i did the original! i feel like anna-marie mclemore did so well remixing this classic, it felt like an extension of the great gatsby while also telling something brand new, and i just loved it, from the prose to the representation and the themes. even if it isn't perfect, i still like it better than the original book and as its own story because of the heart in it, how thoughtful it all was, and how it was just a better reading experience overall. we freaking love u anna-marie <3
