The Reappearance of Rachel Price by Holly Jackson
4.0
If there's a Holly Jackson book on my shelf, you better believe I'm gonna read it. While this story was entertaining as hell, some parts majorly rubbed me the wrong way.
Annabel Price ticks all the boxes of the angsty teenage girl - moody, judgmental, overly crass, and actually pretty mean. On one hand, the circumstances of her upbringing can easily explain why she is the way she is. On the other hand, her family is seemingly all around pleasant. Bel's behavior early on in the book really turned me off from her for the duration of the story. I'd like to assume she was intended to be a headstrong, independent character, but she came across as rude, stuck up, and disrespectful.
To save time and prevent further spoilers, this story has an interesting premise and potential to take you on a wild ride as a reader. I gobbled up the first and last third of the story - with it slowing down in the second bit.
