Kate MacDougall loves dogs...I mean, REALLY loves dogs. This much is evident from the title, cover art, and chapter heading, but mostly from the books content itself. 

I find myself siding with Finley on the notion of dogs. I have nothing against them, and enjoy their company, but I am not really a dog person. The first third of the book was intriguing and funny, and I enjoyed Kate's light-hearted approach and discovering how she found her way to becoming the no 1 dog walkers agency of London.

Perhaps it was the in-depth details she gave of every...single...pooch that came I to a scene, or perhaps it was the writing style itself, but something around the halfway mark lost me and if I were the kind of person to DNF I would have.

I persevered mainly for the interactions between Kate's character and her clients and that was the only thing keeping me going. The writing wasn't bad in itself, neither was the storyline. But I think in order to enjoy this book and rate it highly, you need really REALLY love dogs. And THAT was my downfall.

I enjoyed the change to try something new and move out of my normal comfort zones but on this occasion it wasn't for me.
