A Way with Words by Lane Hayes

4.0

Two really good novellas by one of my fav authors Lane Hayes. Each telling the story of two brothers, both who move to New York to escape their small town and find a new life for themselves. Along the way they stumble into love.

I really liked the progression of these stories. Though they obviously move quicker than a Novel, they still span a good amount of time, feeling more complete than many other Novellas. Feeling like a more complete story.

A Way With Words

Remy recently moved to NY and is playing guitar in the park during the day while working at bar at night while he figures things out. During one of his park gigs he meets the very hot Italian construction worker Tony.

Tony is captivated by Remy, watching him from his construction site for days before he finally says Hi. He seems compelled to stay within Remy’s orbit. The only problem is that Tony is in the closet. Working in Construction and coming from a large Italian family he’s not sure it will go over well. But like any good romance, experiencing what it feels like to be your true self, and having someone by your side to support you makes it all worth it.

Together they are really sweet, and I love how supportive they are of each other.

A Way With You

Reeve moved to NY after the break up of his long term relationship to follow his dream of dealing in high end real estate. One problem, it’s toxic and miserable. Especially working for his attractive but aggravating boss Leo.

When Reeve hits the end of his rope and blows up, it upends their trajectory and sets them on a path to find their truths and decide what is really important in life.

I love their fiery nature, and though they need to work on their communication a bit more, they are strong together.

I loved Leo, and how he softened into a bit of a marshmallow for Reeve.
