Maddox and Brogan
Book 4 Everlasting Ink Series
I know I’ve seen a few things about a standalone but I personally feel like this needs to be read in order. This is a group of 5 best friends and each story is interconnected. But honestly, there is quite a bit to keep up with if you’ve never read books 1-3. If anything, book 3, as it is Brogan’s twin Briar, and they share a similar trauma and story. More details are in book 3 about that. Anyways, I just find it easier to understand them all, if you’ve read their book..but that’s me.
So, as mentioned, Brogan and Briar have had a difficult past and Brogan is having a difficult time moving past it. She feels she is broken and doesn’t deserve love. Being friends with the EI guys’ wives and now with Briar being married to one, she is around this group a lot and finds it difficult to not think about Maddox, she really likes him.
Maddox has liked Brogan since he met her but never said anything. So when they find themselves married, he is secretly thrilled. He convinces her to give him 6 months to show her how life can really be.
Overall, this is a sweet story. I’ve loved Maddox from the beginning because we get to know the guys quite well. They are all big teddy bears. So we understand, he really means what he says. Brogan, although I understand the trauma, got to be a bit much and a lot of repetitive thoughts and conversations; Maddox pouring his heart out and Brogan not believing it. We do get to see the EI a bit which I like. The group in whole, I love their support, protectiveness, and love.
Thank you Grey’s Promotions! I received this book via ARC and am leaving my review voluntarily.
