As with the other Maureen Johnson mysteries that I’ve read, I really enjoyed the vivid setting but could care less about the main character in the modern day timeline. This one also felt a bit underbaked towards the end. That being said, if MJ writes another mystery standalone and happens to make it adult, I will be seated.
