Getting to 89% of this book almost made me wanna continue. But I couldn’t. I know this is meant to be a parody and there are some parts I really enjoyed. But I couldn’t get past the codependency between these two characters. These TPE and then theres… that. I wish there had been more character growth, especially with Ash. Which is why this needed to take place in a time span longer than about a week. I didn’t mind the TPE and dom/sub/DDLB aspects of it but the painful sex scenes threw me for a loop. Different strokes for different folks, but I really wish that Brand were more careful with Ash. Yes, pain can be an important aspect of bdsm/kink play, but there still needs to be safety and more communication. It’s not safe or realistic to think that a person is just gonna know what you want or need, especially in a dynamic like that.
