Summer Ever After by Kortney Keisel is excellent. It was the RomCom-read I needed! This story made me laugh out loud, but it also made me tear up a little, cheer a whole bunch, and sigh in reader bliss. I absolutely loved the characters — best part of the book. Jane is the best kind of heroine. She is genuinely kind and community-service minded. She is strong, independent, and fully capable. She doesn’t need a man to complete her, but she has reached that age where she is ready to find the one and settle down. Unfortunately for her, Jane lives on the beautiful but quaint island of Sunset Harbor. She literally knows every single person on the island, including all the single fellas who are all pretty much brother-figures at this point. Jane decides she is going to force the issue and find her man. It is going to be the Summer of Jane Hayes, and she has decided to use every single romance trope there is. Hey, if it works in romance novels, why can’t it work for Jane?! This is where the novel shines. Jane employing and forcing the romance tropes on her dates is comedy gold. I seriously laughed out loud. So, so good! Enter into this absurdity Walker Collins — Jane’s best friend’s older brother and the boy she’s been crushing on since the 7th grade. Walker is a pro-golfer recovering from spinal surgery. Ever since the surgery, Walker can’t seem to get his golf game back. He’s lost his mojo. Does Jane help him get his game back?! Well, you’ll just have to read the story to find out. But I will say the journey is well worth it. I genuinely loved every minute of this story and will totally miss these characters. It’s a good thing Summer Ever After is book 1 of the Falling for Summer series and I can continue my time in Sunset Harbor!

As with all Keisel novels, Summer Ever After is a truly delightful Contemporary Rom-Com I cannot recommend enough. If you’re a fan of well written, highly engaging, hilarious romances with depth and heart, then you have to give this story a go. You will not regret doing so!
