Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus
5.0
Done. Wiped out emotionally, but I’m grateful I caved and decided to give it a go. When a book gets a lot of hype, I worry that it won’t live up. It was a slow burn for me, but I felt drawn in from the start.
As we progressed with Elizabeth and all of the characters so well developed by Garmus, I knew it was THAT kind of book. The kind I love because threads are loosened and broken and pulled and tied and knitted together, sometimes in ways and places I don’t expect.
I get it now - yes all of you who told me I would love it were right. It’s about women, for women, to inspire women .
“Children, set the table. Your mother needs a moment to herself.”
