I’m general I liked this book and I’m interested to see where the story goes. The world building was really easy to follow, which I really appreciated! The map in the front and pronunciation guide in the back were lifesavers. Overall this was good but not a stellar book. This was SJM’s first book and she was a teenager when she wrote it and the youth and newnesses of her writing show. I’ve enjoyed the other SJM series I’ve read so I’m hoping that the quality of this series grows as it moves forward!
