Okay, book 3 does a good job of continuing the story and must read prior to this one. Alyssa is now coming into her magic more and learning how to control it. This plot is fantastic, and full of twists. The writing held my interest throughout and was engaging. The pacing on this one starts on the slower side but does pick up. It felt like a natural flow of things, and I enjoyed. I loved how this book ended and wrapped things up nicely for the series.

This series is perfect for middle grade fantasy readers and those that enjoy them. I think that this is a series that needs to be read in order. If you love magic, fantasy, and adventure, you need to check this one out.
