Monday's Not Coming by Tiffany D. Jackson
5.0
➸ 5 stars
Words can’t truly show what this book means to me – I just finished it but I want to reread it again from the start but I know I can’t because it will hurt too much. Sadly you can not choose who your parents are and some like many others end up with awful ones. They fight to the very end but sometimes it isn’t always enough.
While reading I thought many people failed Monday but along the way I understood more with the story. But I still feel hurt because there were so many signs! So many and no one really noticed them until it was too late to stop. Monday is one of many characters I wish I could hug in person. This book shows people that things like this happen in real life when you least expect you. You never know what people are living through behind closed doors. Having a love for true crime I’ve learned about many cases just like this fictional book and sadly many changes haven’t been made to keep things like this from happening.
I will never forget this book and how it made me feel with every turn of the page
“So remember, Sweet Pea, just ’cause someone got a roof, don’t make it a home.”

“When you first wake up from a nightmare, you search for something to ground you – something to anchor you to reality.”

“The library held millions of stories in a glass house. One good stone throw and the stories could leak out.”

“I loved her more like a soulmate loved a soulmate. Who makes up the rules for who your soul belongs to?”
