Series review: Urban fantasy but heavy on fantasy and light on urban. I loved the first series in this world, so I was a little disappointed when I didn't like this one as much. My biggest issue is how much angst there is in the relationships. When
the heroine tries to break the bond and it's not even in the first book
you know there's some dramatics occurring. I don't mind a little build up to things, but I want moments of happiness and tenderness between everyone prior to the last chapter, and I didn't feel like I got enough of that or that the redemption was fully earned. I also didn't think the guys were that well-rounded or distinct personalities and the heroine was a step back from Vinna. I still enjoyed it, and the best part was probably the further building of the Sentinel world (and the Vinna sneak peek) and I loved what it set up at the end. I'm very grabby hands for the next series.
