Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling

5.0

It's a classic. I was yelling at the characters some. But also like I didn't realize that we knew NOTHING of someone's relationship with Lilly until the seventh because I was shooketh to my core when some stuff was said.

In hindsight, I really do wish we got more romantic moments but alas that's not what this series is.

Okay potential spoilers below.  Like I'll try to keep it vague, but if you're somehow living under a rock and don't know the plot twists that are this series just skip because they're kinda fun to enjoy for the first time.

ANYWAY - when we finished this book for the first time I remember my dad coming into our room that night and saying X is a good guy. He did what he did because so-and-so wanted him to. That's why he said "don't call me a coward." BAM BAM BAM - anyway, the seventh came out when I was at summer camp and my parents didn't mail us the books because they wanted us to enjoy camp. My head counselor was reading it and I explained to her that whole prediction and she said no way in hell. THEN WHAT DO YOU KNOW it was right. She came and found me and was so mad for the spoilers and I had to be like "I've had no access to the book so how can it be a spoiler." but in hindsight it's soooooo obvious

also fuck james potter. I do not understand what Lilly saw in him or why Harry still idealizes him so.
