Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage by Jennifer Ashley
4.0
4.5 stars (not the full five only because I liked book 1 better than book 2 - not because book 2 doesn't deserve the full five)
I thought I was done with historical romance long ago. I was never even a fan of the regency period romances. However, I can't figure out how to resist these Scotsmen in kilts. ;-) Jennifer Ashley does such a great job bringing her historical characters to life with modern voices. In spite of the setting, these are highly relate-able characters. It's easy to feel them and the issues they encounter.
I've been listening to the books on Audible and have to say that a big factor in my enjoyment of these books is the narrator, Angela Dawes. I love the accents she uses and the inflections are perfect.
I'm moving on to book 3.
