An Embrace of Citrus & Snow by Theo Behr, Rowan Amaris
3.0
The writing and world building is very beautiful. I can only describe it as fae-like. To me to me Bo was looking through human eyes and narrating as a human and Everil was looking through Fae eyes and narrating as a fae. I don’t know if this makes any sense whatsoever but this is how it felt to me. Very different perspectives depending on who was speaking and thinking.
Bo and Talia were my favorite characters. Hands down. Bo reminds me a lot of myself, just speaks his mind (although he probably has more confidence than I do). I appreciated Talia’s humor, she brought a lot of levity to this book for me.
Everil frustrated me. A lot. I wanted him to stand up for himself. I wanted him to be clearer with Bo. I wanted him to let Bo make his own decisions. I was disappointed throughout the majority of the book.
A lot of this book is miscommunication and trust issues with oneself, but at some point I wanted them to overcome these a lot sooner than they did.
