An interesting and fast graphic novel overview of the structure of democratic confederalism and self-administration in Rojava- I especially liked the vignettes of stories peoples shared. As someone with some familiarity with Ă–calan and Bookchin, and the last 10-20 years in the region, it sometimes felt like it skipped around and lightly touched on too many things in a sometimes confusing way. I also felt like it sometimes made too many attempts to appeal to a more centrist US audience. I would still highly recommend, esp for anyone interested in real life experiments with democracy and who wants to either dip their toes in or expand their learning about this region and these ideologies (everyone!)
