Graveyard Shift by M.L. Rio
5.0
Read in a quick hour and a half, this book was incredible! If you look in my backlog of reviews, novellas hardly ever go over well for me. It never leaves enough time to flesh out the characters or plot for me, but Graveyard Shift seems to be the exception. The cast is varied and interesting, and the plot had the perfect, bite-sized content this book needed. Rio's witty and refined prose gives the story a dreamlike (or nightmarish) quality that easily transported me. I would recommend picking this up on a late, autumn night when you just can't seem to get some sleep.
