Protecting His Vampire Mate by Jay Castle

4.0

Very excited to dive into Tobias and Bryan’s story after they were introduced in Married to the Vampire King. If you haven’t read that book, highly recommend.

Bryan is still suffering long term effects of having his free will taken from him and doing horrendous things to others. He feels the call of the mate bond to Tobias but doesn’t feel good enough for him (poor bb). He also wants to prove himself by hunting and helping others.

Tobias swoops in and saves Bryan from being killed by a malevolent spirit, and together they must figure out how to defeat it. We meet the next set of characters along the way (wanted to bash their heads in, but they grew on me…Michael like a fungus….a mildly cute one…).

I liked how Tobias figured out how Bryan and he could help people. It seemed like something he could use to tip the scales and really make a difference.

Next book seems like it’s gonna be a doozy!
