The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
5.0
This book was like a delicate dark chocolate candy wrapped in gold foil with a subtle caramel center. It was like laying in the grass on a sunny day, feeling your skin soak in the warmth of the sun but constantly being cooled with a breeze at just the right moments so you never sweat or grow uncomfortable.
This book had Atmosphere with a capital A. I read The Starless Sea earlier this year and didn’t like it at all, so I was shocked by how totally enraptured I was by this story. The premise, characters, setting, and RICH sentences completely enamored me. I wanted to read it slowly and soak it in but quickly to continue through the narrative at the same time.
I can’t believe I loved this as much as I did, but I want to reread it a million times. A new favorite.
