Depiction of protagonist was substantially different to her portrayal in the TV show, which I suppose is to be expected... but since I love the TV show to bits, I wasn't a huge fan of the more humanistic Temperance Brennan of the book. The life and personality of Tempe seemed to creepily mirror the author, Kathy Reichs. However, a lot of authors draw from real life experiences and at least it adds to the integrity of the novel.
