Strong start, I loved the book until about half of it. Most characters were a bit stereotypical, but fun to read about and the mystery kept me intrigued. The historical setting was well chosen, it was fascinating to read about the conflict between Britian and Egypt in the 19th century and the systematic robbery of archaeological artefacts.

But theeeeeen the second half happend and the story started to drag A LOT. Nothing happend for quite some time, the hidden secrets of some of the characters could be guessed from a mile away. For some reason the dialogues got worse, too, especially when there was romance involved. Also:
Inez was actually convinced that her uncle murdered her parents and she still happily kept sailing towards the archaeological site and digging shit up with him… what was that about?!
