This was insaneeeeeeeeeeee wtf. Really enjoyed it!

Gave me similar vibes of a less gorey American Psycho but for the publishing industry. June and Bateman are the sort of characters that are engaging, rage inducing, yet so utterly pathetic you can't help but feel *some* twinge of pity.

Interesting to see an inside perspective of what being a writer in traditional publishing is like. Had me both itching to start plotting my own stories, while also heavily reconsidering dreams of becoming a successful author. My life is already stressful and anxiety inducing as is haha.

Athena felt in many ways like a self insert of Kuang. This provided insight into her experiences as widely successfu  author, both the good and bad. But it's also depressing knowing that Kuang likely projected some of her own self depreciating thoughts into June's character as she degraded Athena throughout the story.

Overall a thrilling and thought provoking read!
