I love second chance romances. I love the tension, the angst, and all the emotional feelings the characters have. In this book Redemption we have Sloan and Jackson who secretly dated about 14 years ago. Jackson decided to walk away from his sister’s best friend (Sloan) because he felt that she could do much better than him, even though he loved her. Now 14 years later Sloan is the VP of her family’s hotel company a wealthy billionaire who has been getting threatening notes. Her family pressures her to hire a bodyguard who will travel with her from Florida to the Caribbean on her private sailboat. Although, Jackson is reluctant to take the job he is promised a huge promotion is this job goes well. This forced proximity romance has incredible banter between these two strong willed characters who know the other person very well. I loved that Sloan wasn’t a push over, she was capable and confident and even though Jackson was in charge he was very considerate with Sloan and didn’t flex his muscles. I loved having two main characters forced to be together, to work through their issues whether they wanted to or not. This was the third book in the Tempt series. This was the first book I read and I didn’t feel lost or liked I was missing something. I do intend to read the previous two books because now I feel invested in finding out what happened to the other characters I met in this book.
