How to Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell
1.0
I’m not normally this person, but I preferred the movie!
I had high expectations for the book; I love the film series and David Tennant was narrating (I listened in audiobook format). I had read that the books were different from the film but I wasn’t expecting them to be as different as they were.
I struggled to feel connected to any of the characters and felt that the book was over-egged for comedy and gags rather than story and character. My attention wandered throughout several attempts to “get into” the narration (I love David Tennant so that’s saying a lot for me).
I’m glad I gave the books a go, but I’ll be sticking to the films the next time I want a Toothless fix.
