To start with, I wanted to read this book during October. I hoped it would be a good witchy read. I was hugely disappointed. This book was difficult to get through. Much of it was dedicated to the history of each and every Mayfair witch... There are 13 of them! The book doesn't really get to the main plot til the last 200 pages! And WARNING... there is a lot of incest in this book. There are a lot of graphic sex scenes. I'm an adult but these were uncomfortable. I have the other 2 books in this series... Don't know if I will read them.
After sitting with this book rolling around in my mind I have to say I actually really feel much more positive about it. And yes I read Lasher and that helped change my feelings about this book. I will be reading Taltos also and I am thinking about reading Anne's other books because the way she writes is very good.
