Wow, I am so glad I waited to read this, I need a book to bring me out of my book hangover and this was just the ticket.
It’s a perfect mix of serious and funny. I loved that. It was witty and swoony all at the same time. I know I say that but for me you can’t go wrong with a Bossy man can you?

"Don't focus on the what ifs. Focus on what is."

Chase is that kind of bossy you want. He is also funny, I can’t get over the first meet and how that all turned out it was fresh and fun. He catches Reese trying to get out of a blind date. Making up stories and having a good time doing it. With a total stranger who doesn’t feel like a stranger.

"I'm Chase Parker. Reese and I go way back."
"Martin Ward." My date nodded.
"Martin, mind if we join you? It's been years since Buttercup and I have seen each other. I'd love to catch up. You don't mind, do you?"

You don’t know right away that he has a past that broke him, he hides it well. But you get the sense all in not as it seems both with Chase and with Reese. She doesn’t hide hers as well she has hang ups too from her past.

Reese is that independent women you want to be like. But she has that scared side to her as well. She isn’t ready to open herself up, but she can’t get that stranger out of her head either.
I find her very self-assured a go get'er, I like that about her. But she is very human too. She says the wrong things at the wrong time. She spills coffee on herself. She isn’t afraid to laugh at or be laughed at. All things I like in my romances.

I loved Chase’s sister and good friend. They were a hoot at just the right times. It was really great the friendship between Chases sister and Reese. I love that part so much it melted my heart just that touch more.

But what really did it for me was when Chase fights his past and so does Reese and they come together at just the right time to help heal each other. Sigh .. I love that.

“You have my heart. Promise me you’ll keep it safe.”

Very much enjoyed this book if you can’t tell. So glad I picked it up.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion and I am allowed to have it.*
