the best book i’ve read so far this year! i won’t be surprised if it makes it to my top 10 of 2025, and it’s only january. effy and preston have my heart - i’m always weak for an academic-rivals-to-lovers trope, and these two were particularly precious <3 i also loved how this book tackled the themes of unfair treatment of women in academia, the abuse of power by men holding it, and the relationship between text, reader, and author. even though this particular story feels finished, i cannot wait for the sequel and i’m so happy this book is getting one!
