Another banger from our lord, romance queen and savior Alessandra Hazard.
Yes, this one was one of my absolute favourites.
Unlike the previous two books, I was pretty sure I was going to end up loving this, but it still felt completely surprising, a bit different from what I was expecting. For one, Miles and Ian's relationship: I was expecting some enemies-to-lovers vibes, a bit like Raffaele and Nate's relationship, but actually they have a surprisingly friendly relationship from the start. Although Ian's clearly a bit of an asshole, he never treats Miles badly and from the beginning he's deliciously possessive of him, careful and respectful and indulgent, hopelessly enamoured with his flirty, innocent attitude. And I loved him, so much. He was beyond surprising, a mix of controlling and rude and heartbreakingly insecure: I felt for him so much. Miles was equally complex and such a lovely counterbalance to Ian's character: sunshine-y and flirty and refreshingly honest, about himself and what he wanted from Ian. Their romance felt different from all the others: more light-hearted, because they banter a lot, but also more angsty, in some ways. They also had A TON of chemistry. Some of their sexier scenes are permanently branded into my brain. *fans herself with the nearest object*
I also adored how many old faces we get to meet again: as usual, the Hardaways steal the show.
"Just a Bit Dirty" was beyond lovely. Toe-curling and sexy and emotional and angsty. It hit all of my buttons.
Now, off I got to read the last book I'm still missing in this series: I'm both excited and beyond devastated I'm nearly all caught up.
