Balada Burung Penyanyi dan Ular by Suzanne Collins
5.0
My mind is still reeling after finishing this one. As a loyal fan to the series, I absolutely loved seeing all of the connections from the prequel to the rest of The Hunger Games series. Still so many unanswered questions, but I feel satiated (for now) with the answers I was given.
Collins has such an incredible way of immersing the reader into the story. Watching Snows’ descent into evil as he made an ascent to power was mind boggling. In true Collins fashion, there were plenty of memorable characters, and mind-tripping names (I’m still trying to figure out how exactly to pronounce all of them). This story was way more gruesome than the others (if you can believe that). I found myself ruminating over many tragic scenes.
Well worth the 500+ page read!
