Dad Bakes by Katie Yamasaki

5.0

What a lovely book. If you just read it as a story, it's very sweet; a dad who bakes and clearly loves his daughter very much. And then you read the afterword, and you realize it's even better. The author is starting a conversation about incarcerated family members, children affected, and the stigma of reentry. But without it feeling like a heavy "very special episode" sort of story. It's there if you want it, and if not, it's still just a sweet story about making bread and memories with a father and daughter.
