I love listening to memoirs read by the authors. Getting to hear Viola herself tell me about how she grew up and how hard she worked to become an actor is inspiring. I love that she grew from her traumas and tried to break cycles and take care of her family when she had the means. It was also nice to get an inside look into the "Hollywood" lifestyle for upcoming actors. The blatant colorism and racism is sometimes easily overlooked, but hearing that people wouldn't have considered Viola beautiful or leading lady material confuses me. I see so much beauty and strength in that woman. She deserves her happy life and her accolades
