A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
4.0
finished this in less than 3 days. amazing. wonderful. gripping. i understand the hype. usually i don’t go things that gain huge amounts of popularity quickly because i dont want to be left disappointed. this did not leave me disappointed. although, i did give this book 4 stars.
the pacing seemed off to me. it was just very fast. TO BE FAIR, i just finished reading the Red Queen series which the pacing was much slower and i felt like it was accurate. multiple chapters could be explaining about events that took place in a single day, where as we skipped weeks in between chapters in this book. so, compared to what i’ve been reading for the last few months, this could be considered fast pacing. i just felt like feyre fell way too fast for tamlin considering her past and how much hatred she had for their kind. i could’ve used a little more slow burn because otherwise, it feels a little disingenuous. nonetheless, it was very good and kept me hooked throughout the book.
