The Edge of Lost by Kristina McMorris

5.0

I have no idea why honeymoon me put this book on my kindle, but I’m so glad I read it. I never read historical fiction so this was a welcome change of pace, and even though I was a bit wary, a few pages in and I was hooked. This story was so heart warming, and the different themes of family and what defines it got more color at every turn. I loved the pacing and how we were guided through Shan/Tommy’s life. This was clearly very well researched at all points - Ellis Island, Italian/Irish immigrants in NYC, vaudeville/burlesque, and finally of course Alcatraz. Made me want to read more stories with these settings to uncover more of these worlds.
