A Heart So White by Javier Marías
5.0
Magnificent body of writing, long and carefully crafted sentences which show elaborate thought on the slippery slope of time, how knowledge is a process which can never be undone, and the torment of made and unmade choices. All this tied together with a suspenseful story across continents, where reminiscence and repetition continuously haunt the reader, and momentary fragments of time are unravelled to their bare fabric (a mastery of anecdote).
