These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman, Meagan Spooner
5.0
Can I start by saying how much it excites me that this book started off as an rp? Because seriously, it's insane how much I love that.
Now onto the review. This book is essentially a romance novel with some sci fi themes but shockingly that doesn't make the book bad. Though there are feelings throughout the bulk of the romance isn't until after half way through and it only slows the story down near the end. It is unfortunate that it slowed it down at all but there is still story so it doesn't detract.
One thing I was worried about after seeing Spooners name was characterisation. The novel I read recently by her on her own was dull and the characters didn't help at all but apparently Kaufman has a good influence. Considering most of the book focuses on solely two characters and you don't get tired of them? That's a damn good thing.
The plot was interesting throughout and you do ask a lot of questions but some things like the password are really obvious. But for the most part the plot is engaging and you want more and more as you explore with Tarver and Lilac.
I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it.
