Second read review:

I can't explain exactly why I love this book. There's a lot about American Football, something I have absolutely zero knowledge or interest in. And yet, at its heart, the book is about far more than that. I think it has a lot to say about dealing with past trauma, finding joy where you can, working out what to hold on to and what to let go of, and how and when to move on.

Also, I love a book that drops in very un-subtle references to Total Eclipse Of The Heart.
