Scrooge You! by Brigham Vaughn
4.0
A romantic and entertaining story between two men who are in different stages of their lives, and yet, as they get to know each other, they realize that despite being so different, they are exactly what the other needs.
Joel is 35, and already has his career and future on track. He is loyal, warm, and loves the small town of Christmas Falls. But since he only lives for his bakery, his social life is almost non-existent, although he is happy. Through it he shares with his friends and family, and contributes whenever he can to the town.
Hayden is 23 and he graduated from college a few months ago, and had his life planned in a big city, but the job he was about to start fell through, and he had to leave Chicago to go live with his mother and stepdad while job hunting in this small town. He's frustrated and feels like a failure, not to mention that Christmas brings back bad memories since he lost his dad, so his mood isn't the best.
They meet by chance, after Hayden literally falls at Joel's feet, and Joel helps him, and despite Hayden's grumpiness and reluctance to want to bond with anyone, they can't deny the attraction they feel. , and soon they start dating.
Joel teaches Hayden that it is okay to miss what he lost years ago, but that it is also okay to start enjoying and creating new, happier memories, and Hayden teaches Joel that not everything in this life is work, that it is worth to put your feet out of his bakery and start enjoying life, together.
