I definitely care about this installment the least out of the three so far. I'm learning to deal with the prose, although it's still not my favorite, but the real issue with this book is that I just didn't care.

I did enjoy the exploration of a couple different doorways in this one, and I liked catching up with all the main characters from the first book. I still had a good time reading and I'm still going to continue with the series. This book was just so all over the place. The time-travel/time-warp aspect of this book was soooo not for me; I avoid all books with time travel if I know about it ahead of time. I feel like it didn't make any sense, even taking the 'nonsense' of the doorway into account.

The final thing I want to mention is that I think McGuire missed the mark on the fat-rep here. Normally I think she does a pretty good job with diversity in her characters, but Cora (whose name I had to look up because I didn't remember it) is JUST fat. Like, that's her only personality trait besides the fact that she swims. That's not good representation. Let's make diverse people more three-dimensional than what makes them diverse, yeah?

Glad to be past this book and moving on to the next one. Hopefully the time travel in the plot means that it won't happen in any future books haha
